Creative Projects & Workshops.
Whether it’s being commissioned for new works or designing participatory projects, I bring the best of my creativity to the work that I do.
I’ve been commissioned to make new artworks by small organisations all the way up to large scale international festivals on everything from digital and accessible creative resources through to immersive exhibitions.
I also have 20 years of experience in running creative health projects with communities and vulnerable groups across a range of settings. This includes working within a spectrum of healthcare settings and community environments. I’ve run a number of projects supporting people living with mental health difficulties, people experiencing homelessness, those affected by suicide, younger and older people, and many more communities.
Mentoring & Coaching for Artists & Arts Professionals.
I have over a decade of experience supporting artists and arts professionals. Depending on what you need, we can work together through mentoring, coaching, or a blend of both.
I have a particular focus on supporting those who work across the field of arts and health.
I can help you to:
Make work about your personal lived experiences.
Receive feedback on your work and support its progress.
Design & deliver socially engaged projects.
Consider self care in your creative practice.
Advocate for your access needs in your practice.
Write funding applications for your work.
Gain an understanding of the creative health landscape.
Improve how you talk or write about your creative practice.
Start your own community or small arts organisation.
Make changes in how you work, or move closer towards your goals.
As a disabled and neurodivergent person myself, I recognise that people think, process and work in different ways. I use a relational, person-centred and flexible approach. For some people that means short online sessions; for others, longer sessions at my studio in South London.
I often work with clients as a mentor, as a coach, or with a blended approach. Read on for more information about how these modalities differ from one another.
Mentoring
In mentoring, I bring my knowledge, experience and skills directly to our work together. I'll be generous with what I know, share my perspective when it's useful, and help you think through the challenges you are facing. I see my role not as telling you what to do, but as helping you unpack your ideas by showing genuine curiosity in where you are now, where you would like to be, and working together to figure out the steps to get there.
Coaching
Coaching works differently. Rather than drawing on my own experience, I work with you to surface what you already know - your thinking, your values, and your direction - by using questions, reflection and structured conversation, not my advice or expertise.
Coaching is goal-focused and time-limited. We would agree a number of sessions upfront and the agenda is entirely yours. I am a trained and accredited Relational Dynamics Coach.
A Blend of Both
Sometimes one mode is not enough on its own. If you would like access to my knowledge and experience as an arts professional and have dedicated space to think through your own direction, we can move between both approaches. Sometimes I'll share from my own practice; sometimes I'll step back and hold space for your thinking. We'd talk through how you'd like to work before we begin, and you can shape that as we go.
Consultancy.
For 15 years I’ve consulted on arts and health projects for funders and organisations. I’m well established with great connections and knowledge across the sector.
I blend my experience of running a successful NHS arts charity, my own non-profit organisation and sole trader business, with my background as a creative to help support ambitious yet realistic outcomes.
My consultancy comes in a number of forms, including:
Long term support as a critical friend.
Initial input to help get projects off the ground.
Advisory roles (independently, or part of a wider committee).
Get a flavour of my consulting by seeing my long-standing clients below.
-
Since 2020 I have been an Arts Adviser across the foundation’s arts & mental health funding programme.
-
Since 2024 I have been the association’s on-going EDI consultant (equality, diversity & inclusion).
-
Formed in 2024 to bring together creative health leaders in London who have experienced racism AND who identify as black, brown, Asian, or who have mixed heritage backgrounds.
ARCH exists to:
support to increase the diversity of creative health practitioners working in London and;
support and increase awareness of and engagement with creative health opportunities amongst London’s diverse communities.
Speaking Engagements.
I blend lived experience & expertise with compassionate curiosity, making me a powerful speaker.
I’m available to bring my wealth of experience across the creative health sector via speaking engagements - from one off events with grassroots organisations to international conferences. I regularly speak at arts and clinical events across the UK and worldwide.
Teaching.
For 15 years I’ve taught across both fine art and medical institutions.
My background in creative health means I’m just as happy teaching in an art school as I am with medical students. From one off lectures to longer projects I comfortably and confidently support students to understand the vital impact that the arts can have on our individual and collective wellbeing.
My experience of teaching in medical humanities and of working within the NHS means I understand the varied ways in which teaching can take form for different student groups to have the best impact.
Grant Writing & Access Support.
Over the last decade I’ve raised close to £1m in funding for my own practice, other individuals and organisations.
I’m available to:
Support individuals to develop ideas and write grant applications to support their practice.
Work with organisations to bring a project idea to life and support the grant writing process.
Provide access support to neurodivergent & disabled artists who may struggle with application processes.
